Chronicle90 is an open web directory that has been building its index one submission at a time. The project began as a straightforward effort to maintain a factual, well-organised record of active websites across a broad range of industries and subject areas.
The directory currently holds 851 entries spread across 22 editorial sections, covering everything from financial services and health care to travel operators, legal practices, and technology consultancies. The 22 sections are designed to reflect the natural divisions of online commerce and services rather than any arbitrary editorial taxonomy.
Every site in the Chronicle90 index was submitted by its owner or operator. There is no automated crawling or unsolicited inclusion — entries appear because a real person decided to file their site with the directory. Submissions are reviewed for basic validity before being added to the record.
Chronicle90 is free to use and free to list in. The submission form is open to any legitimate online business regardless of size or location. Sites from dozens of countries currently appear in the index, reflecting the international character of the open web.
The directory is maintained on a rolling basis. New entries are added as submissions clear review, and the index is updated to reflect the current state of the listed sites. Chronicle90 aims to be a durable, factual record of the web — not a ranked list, not an endorsement, simply a chronicle.
